Meet Miguel Martín

Miguel Martín is an Airbnb host and videographer who discovered his passion for hosting during a 2010 trip to New York City. With extensive travel experience and a 2015 Golden Pineapple award, he now offers a warm hosting experience in Valencia, where he lives with his wife and son.

Our Story

Miguel Martín was born and raised in Valencia, he spent summers in his father’s village, Salinas del Manzano, where his family renovated the oldest house in town. His father’s dedication to preserving heritage and the family’s hard work instilled in him a strong work ethic and a love for creating spaces.

During an Erasmus exchange in Malmö, Sweden, he learned English and left Spain for the first time, discovering new perspectives and experiences. After college, he worked as a cameraman and videographer, fueling his passion for storytelling. In 2010, a trip to New York City introduced him to Airbnb. His host moved in with her boyfriend so he could stay at her place, inspiring him with the thought, “This is awesome; we need to replicate this in Madrid.” He began hosting and quickly fell in love with creating welcoming spaces for travelers.

His travels across the USA, Morocco, Thailand, the Philippines, and throughout Europe have shaped his hosting style. He always puts himself in his guests’ shoes, drawing from these diverse experiences. Hosting has also led to meaningful connections. He became the wedding videographer for a couple in Texas and took a road trip through California to visit former guests who became friends.

In 2015, he was honored with a Golden Pineapple award, recognizing his deep connections with guests. At the Airbnb Open in Paris, he had the opportunity to meet the founder of Airbnb, further validating his passion for hospitality.

Now, as a dad, he and his wife have moved upstairs in their Valencia home to raise their son. This arrangement allows them to provide warm and attentive service to their guests while enjoying their family life.
